Team Chevrolet of Salisbury invites the
community to the dealership Saturday, Nov. 3 for a fun and informative safety
event from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
A texting test track will be set up for drivers to experience
the dangers of texting and driving, and afterward the drivers will be shown the
safety features of OnStar services.
Representatives from the North Carolina Farm Bureau office
in Salisbury will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about
car insurance, and offer insurance quotes - from first-time drivers to lifelong
experienced drivers.
The Salisbury Fire Department will be providing free car
seat checks and properly installing those that are not in compliance with state
and Federal law. There will also be a fire truck on display for children and
adults to explore.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and Explorers will be
giving away handouts, badges, and a chance to shake hands with McGruff, the
Crime Fighting Dog. The Sheriff’s Office will also have Safe Kid’s
fingerprinting available.
Kids can bounce around on a large inflatable or get their
face painted, free of charge. And if you get hungry, grab a hot dog from Hap’s
on Wheels or a Sun Drop from the soda fountain. Hap’s hot dogs will be $1,
drinks, $0.50.
